Restock Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: As a Restock Specialist at BJU Press, the ideal candidate will play a supporting role in restocking the flow rack and high-volume pick locations and performing other various inventory movements in the warehouse. This job requires the ability to proficiently operate a forklift. This job will also require some seasonal shiftwork and flexibility to assist in other departments.

About the Team: The Distribution Center team seeks to support the mission of BJU Press by distributing BJU Press products to customers. The Manufacturing & Distribution team seeks to support the mission of BJU Press by providing products for Christian educators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Restock Specialist will…

• Restock flow racks and high-volume pick locations
• Make required inventory moves within the warehouse
• Assist in identifying and resolving count problems
• Assist in removal of new items from mezzanine floor
• Assist in unloading freight deliveries
• Assist in conducting physical inventory of warehouse
• Assist the Inventory Supervisor/Shift Supervisor with other duties as directed
• Assist in other departments as necessary
• Work required shiftwork including overtime and Saturdays during peak season (May-Sept), and as necessary

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES NEEDED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

• Good math, computer, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work quickly, accurately, safely, and independently
• Ability to learn/use double reach forklift and electric pallet jacks
• Good visual/spatial skills
• Knowledge of inventory record systems and procedures a plus

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or GED
• Prior warehouse or inventory experience helpful, but not required
• Must have or be able to complete training and certification to operate a stand-up forklift, scissor lift and electric pallet jacks.
