Position Purpose
Provide dependable Manager-on-Duty and GM-coverage leadership while building the operating judgment and system knowledge required for a GM assignment.
Core Responsibilities
· Execute the RM-issued FOH schedule and the GM’s shift plan.
· Lead opening, operating, and closing shifts across FOH and BOH.
· Complete delegated order approvals, transfers, cash, safety, cleanliness, and operational checks.
· Complete structured handoffs covering staffing, guests, product, equipment, maintenance, cash, and employee issues.
· Identify facility or equipment concerns, use the maintenance request process, preserve safe conditions, and escalate through the GM.
· Facilitate vendor access and verify completion when assigned by the GM.
· Coach team members in real time and escalate formal matters through the proper level.
· Develop competence in inventory, food cost, R&M processes, Toast, 7shifts, and GM decision-making.
Decision Authority and Escalation
· Serve as accountable MOD during assigned shifts.
· Complete routine delegated operating and maintenance-request tasks within established procedures.
· No independent labor targets or authority to set labor strategy.
Measures of Success
· Shift and guest execution.
· Opening, closing, cash, safety, maintenance handoff, and operational-check completion.
· Reliability of GM coverage and quality of communication.
· Progress toward GM readiness.
Leadership and Culture Expectations
· Demonstrate ownership, calm judgment, hospitality, and respectful coaching.
· Bring proposed solutions with escalations and protect one consistent company standard.
Minimum Qualifications
· Prior Shift Leader or restaurant management experience.
· Ability to lead FOH and BOH coordination during a shift.
· Reliable transportation for floating assignment where required.
· Required food-safety certification.
