We're not just hiring a General Manager — we're inviting a new Heartbeat into our HomeGrown family.
At Thrive Restaurant Group, we’ve been growing goodness for over 50 years. We’re family-owned, people-centered, and purpose-driven. We believe in building places where people can thrive — and HomeGrown is one of the best examples of that vision in action.
Born in Wichita in 2017, HomeGrown exists to start people’s days with kindness. We serve scratch-made breakfast and lunch in spaces designed to feel like a warm hug. We build community with every pancake flipped, every latte poured, and every connection made. And we’re looking for a General Manager to lead our Downtown Wichita location — someone who feels called to lead with heart, build up others, and help make mornings brighter.
To love and lead people by creating a workplace where everyone can become their natural best selves.
As the General Manager, you are the culture-setter, coach, and chief cheerleader. You’re responsible for nurturing a team that takes care of each other and creates memorable guest experiences. It’s about building a thriving business — one rooted in people, purpose, and pancakes.
Lead with Heart: Model and multiply a culture of kindness, curiosity, and excellence.
Build Great Teams: Hire, coach, and develop leaders who do the same for their teams.
Inspire Hospitality: Make sure every guest leaves feeling better than when they arrived.
Drive Operational Health: Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and top-notch food quality.
Own the Numbers: Be responsible for the P&L, labor, COGS, and all the pieces that make the restaurant financially strong.
Keep It Clean & Compliant: Ensure safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards are always met.
Lead the Vibe: Be present, proactive, and full of the kind of energy that sets the tone for the whole team.
A people-first leader who believes relationships matter most.
A hospitality pro who lights up when you serve others.
A developer of leaders who loves mentoring and seeing others grow.
A decision-maker with sound judgment and strong operational awareness.
A problem-solver who’s not afraid to get in the mix and figure things out.
A culture-carrier who helps create a workplace that’s joyful, supportive, and productive.
Previous General Manager experience in a full-service or fast-casual restaurant
A strong head for numbers and operations (labor, scheduling, P&L, etc.)
A passion for great food, meaningful work, and making a difference
A knack for juggling competing priorities with calm and confidence
The physical ability to be on your feet, stay active, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Flexibility to work early hours, weekends, and holidays (we serve breakfast and lunch only!)
A team that loves coming to work
Guests who feel seen, known, and cared for
A restaurant that runs smoothly, profitably, and with heart
A culture where people feel proud to be a part of something meaningful
Thrive Restaurant Group and HomeGrown are proud to be Equal Opportunity Employers. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members. If you are unable to meet any of the listed physical requirements and would like to request a reasonable accommodation, we encourage you to let us know during the hiring process. Offers of employment are contingent upon a background check. We comply with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, because–well, you should!
