We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and organized Activities Director to help provide meaningful engagement and respite for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, while supporting their caregivers.
The Activities Director will work closely with program leadership, staff, volunteers, participants, and families to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging activities for Respite programming 2–3 days per week.
- Assist with daily program preparation, activities, transitions, and cleanup.
- Help plan and coordinate special events and educational programs.
- Welcome new families and assist with participant enrollment and onboarding.
- Communicate regularly with caregivers regarding participant experiences and concerns.
- Recruit, train, coordinate, and support volunteers.
- Maintain attendance records, participant information, supplies, and program documentation.
- Monitor safety and address health or safety concerns appropriately.
- Assist with caregiver education and community resource connections.
- Support office operations and social media content.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Dependable, adaptable, positive, and service-oriented.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Experience working with older adults, dementia programs, caregivers, or volunteers is a plus.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:30AM-4:00PM
Hours: 30 hours/week
Salary: $35,000/year
