Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 2 years within the last 48 months (4 years).
• 3 months of travel experience is required.
Requirements:

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience:
- Critical care experience is required; critical care assignments require a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Must have 1 travel contract.
- Experience in a facility with 300+ beds is required.
- Therapists must have intubation experience or be comfortable intubating patients.
- Therapists must be accustomed to high and heavy workloads.
- Must be able to work in an adult ICU and manage ventilators, make suggestions for ventilator management, read ABGs, and alert critical values.
Unit Details:
- Therapists provide 550 minutes of treatment per shift, averaging 15 minutes per treatment, and see an average of 13-15 patients per shift.
- Charge and clinical coordinator duties are included.
- Adult assignments cover pediatric through adult patients; NICU respiratory therapists are separate from adult needs.
- Duties include nebulizer treatments, airway management, Vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator management, ABG collection, bedside PFTs, CPT, arterial-line placement in the ICU, blood-gas management, intubation, and bronchoscopies. Arterial-line placement is taught on the job.
- An MD or NP hospitalist or intensivist is in-house 24/7 and responds to codes; respiratory therapists are the first line for intubations.
- Servo U and I model ventilators are used.
- Pharmacy coverage is available 24/7.
- Common patient disease processes include COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and cancers.
- ICU assignments may include up to 4 airways per therapist; an airway is considered a ventilator or a heated-aerosol tracheostomy off the ventilator.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Scheduled days are Fri-Sun.
- Holidays are rotated with permanent staff; every other holiday can be expected.
- No call.

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
