    Medical Edge is currently hiring a Respiratory Therapist (RT) on behalf of one of our valued healthcare clients.

    As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll play a vital role in providing respiratory care to patients across a variety of clinical situations. Your expertise, compassion, and clinical judgment will help improve patient outcomes and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve.
     
    A Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role:
    • Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer; performs EKGs and provides tobacco-cessation education as ordered.
    • Delivers prescribed respiratory therapies while monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient condition and response to treatment.
    • Responds to codes and emergent calls, assesses patient conditions, and provides appropriate interventions.
    • Evaluates and contributes to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.
    • Educates patients and families regarding illnesses, treatments, equipment use, and available community resources.
    • Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders while maintaining storage areas and equipment readiness.
    • Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, performs preventive maintenance, and calibrates respiratory equipment.
    • Performs responsibilities necessary to meet required service levels.
    • Participates in performance improvement initiatives and required education.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position.
    • Education: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
    • License: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in the state of North Carolina.
    • Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP required.
