We're looking for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Respiratory Care team.
Our department is growing and continuing to evolve, offering opportunities to work with a supportive team in a variety of clinical settings.
Position Details:
- Day Shift: 6:30am-7:00 pm
- 36 hours per week
- Every 3rd weekend rotation ($3/hour weekend shift differential
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, & NRP certifications, required
- Demonstrate professionalism and strong interpersonal abilities in a team environment.
- Demonstrate initiative in personal /professional development.
- Maintain interdepartmental and patient records within the CDS.
- Maintains knowledge of the various methods of oxygen delivery, including the necessary equipment. Remains alert, assesses possible side effects to oxygen delivery.
- Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understands the purpose of each and the possible side effects associated with each. Effectively assess patient's response to the given treatment.
- Sets-up, manages and monitors mechanical ventilators and the associated critical care duties required, such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
- Performs arterial punctures to obtain arterial blood samples for blood gas analysis, and understands the possible complications and contraindications associated with the procedure.
- Responds to Codes, rapid response calls, and assists with transport of patients requiring noninvasive or invasive ventilator support.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the differences in techniques and treatment modalities as performed on patients of varying ages, including pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.
- Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure that it is functioning safely and efficiently.
- Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs of a patient and evaluates effectiveness of learning. Patient's family is included in teaching as appropriate.
- Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and that hospital policy is followed.
- Participate in staff meetings, educational programs, committees, QI activities and mandatory in-services.
Requirements Include
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program, required
NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), required
Current State of Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Licensure, required
BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications, required
Two or more years of previous experience in acute care, preferred.
