We're looking for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Respiratory Care team.

Our department is growing and continuing to evolve, offering opportunities to work with a supportive team in a variety of clinical settings.

Position Details:

  • Day Shift: 6:30am-7:00 pm
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every 3rd weekend rotation ($3/hour weekend shift differential

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, & NRP certifications, required
  • Demonstrate professionalism and strong interpersonal abilities in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate initiative in personal /professional development.
  • Maintain interdepartmental and patient records within the CDS.
  • Maintains knowledge of the various methods of oxygen delivery, including the necessary equipment. Remains alert, assesses possible side effects to oxygen delivery.
  • Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understands the purpose of each and the possible side effects associated with each. Effectively assess patient's response to the given treatment.
  • Sets-up, manages and monitors mechanical ventilators and the associated critical care duties required, such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
  • Performs arterial punctures to obtain arterial blood samples for blood gas analysis, and understands the possible complications and contraindications associated with the procedure.
  • Responds to Codes, rapid response calls, and assists with transport of patients requiring noninvasive or invasive ventilator support.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the differences in techniques and treatment modalities as performed on patients of varying ages, including pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure that it is functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs of a patient and evaluates effectiveness of learning. Patient's family is included in teaching as appropriate.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and that hospital policy is followed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, educational programs, committees, QI activities and mandatory in-services.

Requirements Include

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program, required

  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), required

  • Current State of Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Licensure, required

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications, required

  • Two or more years of previous experience in acute care, preferred.
