Respiratory Therapist

Job Description:

Allegria Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Port Jefferson is looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in New York State, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and possess the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Responsibilities:

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment. Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation and attending mandatory meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long-term care setting, particularly with skilled nursing facilities
• Follow procedure and protocol of Allegria Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Port Jefferson
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Licensed to Practice in New York State
• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.

  Mid Level (3-6 years)

  Associates Degree
