    Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different?

    At Apria, you will experience a unique blend of clinical autonomy, meaningful patient interaction, and supportive team collaboration. This position provides a balance of branch operations and patient-facing respiratory care while helping patients successfully transition from hospital to home.

    Key Highlights

    • Coverage includes rotation between the Plainview and Riverhead branches

    • Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

    • Work Arrangement: On-site; approximately 80% office and 20% field

    • Driving Territory: Up to 1.5 hours from the branch

    Salary Range

    • $52.00 – $60.00 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, and applicable credentials.

    On-Call Transparency

    • Rotating on-call schedule shared among all Respiratory Therapists

    • Week-long coverage rotation

    What You'll Do

    • Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow ups

    • Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance

    • Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately

    • Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs

    • Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams

    • Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop

    • Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation

    • Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition

    • Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs

    • Performs other duties as required

    What We Look For

    • Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active NY RT license.

    • Open to candidates with varying experience levels; 2+ years preferred

    • Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.

    • Valid driver's license

    • Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation

    Education

    • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

    Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

    • Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy

    • Hold a current CPR Certification

    • Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
