Position Summary
Shape the future of respiratory care! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our CoARC-accredited Las Vegas program as a Part-Time Respiratory Therapist Instructor (16 hours/week).
In this role, you will transition your clinical expertise from the bedside to the classroom and lab. You will lead high-fidelity simulations, mentor students through complex clinical concepts, and guide practical demonstrations to ensure the next generation of Nevada's Practitioners are prepared for modern healthcare. This part-time schedule offers an ideal way to inspire future therapists while maintaining flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Instruction & Simulation Leadership:
Lab & Lecture Delivery: Develop and deliver dynamic lesson plans, interactive lab sessions, and practical demonstrations tailored to diverse learning styles.
Simulation Training: Utilize modern simulation technology to create immersive, real-world learning environments for clinical skill mastery.
Field Integration: Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and clinical site insights to bridge classroom learning with bedside practice.
Student Mentorship & Academic Management:
Retention & Support: Monitor student progress and attendance, serving as a mentor to support an 80%+ student success rate through proactive coaching.
Academic Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate student records, including weekly attendance logs and final course grades, in compliance with institutional policy.
Accreditation Compliance: Ensure all instructional activities adhere to CoARC accreditation standards and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC-accredited program.
(Bachelor's degree preferred).
Credentials & Licensure:
Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
Active, unrestricted Nevada State RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner) license.
Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn institutional Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) or more years of teaching experience in an accredited respiratory therapy program.
Strong classroom management and verbal/written communication skills.
Compensation & Part-Time Benefits
Hiring Range: $31.00 to $38.75 per hour.
Schedule: Part-Time (16 hours per week).

Pima Medical Institute started changing lives in 1972 when Richard Luebke Sr. and his wife, JoAnn, brought to life their dream of providing quality medical career education. They opened the first campus in Tucson, Arizona, preparing students to become nursing assistants. Eventually Richard Luebke Jr. and Mark Luebke took the helm, introducing more programs and opening additional campus locations to meet the country’s growing demand for quality healthcare professionals.
In 2015, Fred Freedman became Pima Medical’s President and Chief Executive Officer after serving the college as Chief Operating Officer. He has been with Pima Medical since June of 2000.
