What Youll Do
- Provide respiratory care treatments, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to inpatients and outpatients.
- Monitor and wean patients from oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation.
- Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gas results and perform EKGs.
- Deliver intermittent respiratory therapy according to established procedures.
- Assist with changing artificial airways.
- Review and document clinical information for each patient.
- Educate patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
- Perform routine and advanced therapeutic and diagnostic procedures based on established policies.
What You Need
Required:- Associates degree.
- Current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Cardiac Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Computer skills for clinical data entry and retrieval.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for therapists working in the NICU.
- Current knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures and professional certifications.
