Job Title: Reading Resource Teacher Purpose: Provide targeted, evidence-based reading intervention and support to students who are below grade-level in reading or who require specialized instruction to meet literacy goals. Key Responsibilities: - Assess students’ reading levels using research-approved screening and diagnostic tools.
- Develop and implement individualized and small-group intervention plans based on assessment data.
- Deliver explicit, systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
- Monitor student progress regularly and adjust instruction using data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with classroom teacher and families to coordinate supports and share strategies.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and participate in parent/teacher meetings.
- Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment and promote student engagement and independence.
Qualifications: - Valid teaching certification; Reading Specialist endorsement or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of structured literacy approaches and evidence-based reading interventions.
- Experience working with diverse learners and using assessment-driven instruction.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and data-analysis skills.
