Contract: Probationary/Term Revised: 2.20.2025 The Resource Teacher supports special education students by providing tailored learning experiences, developing or adapting curricula, and creating instructional materials to foster their overall growth. This role may involve working in a self-contained, team-based, departmental, or itinerant capacity, as assigned. Education/Certification/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
• Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation
• Knowledge of how to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs
• Effective communication skills

Experience:

• One-year student teaching or approved internship Instructional Planning and Delivery
  1. Develop and implement lesson plans that meet district curriculum requirements, include accommodations for individual student needs, and provide written evidence of preparation
  2. Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and technology to address students' learning styles and needs, following Texas Education Agency guidelines and board policies
  3. Assess student learning styles, plan instruction accordingly, and collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through the ARD Committee process
  4. Present subject matter effectively, modify curricula as needed, and collaborate with staff to implement IEPs for each student Student Growth and Development
