Description

Our Lady Star of the Sea School in Solomons, Maryland is hiring a part time Resource Aide.

This role will report to the Principal. The position is 20-29 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The hourly pay is $17.90.

  • Contributes to the acquisition of knowledge, development, and progress of
  • Provides individual and small-group support to students under the direction of classroom
  • Assists students with classwork, assignments, organization, and reinforcement of skills taught in the classroom.
  • Supports classroom teachers in maintaining a positive, organized, and productive learning
  • Works collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to support the academic and developmental needs of students.
  • Assists with the implementation of teacher-directed accommodations, interventions, and student support strategies.
  • Encourages appropriate student behavior and reinforces classroom and school

  • Assists with student supervision during classrooms, transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other school activities as needed.

Additional Requirements:

  • Understanding of appropriate instructional and developmental practices for students in the corresponding grade levels.
  • Willingness and ability to work with students who have varying academic, behavioral, and developmental needs in order to help them achieve their educational objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and under the direction of classroom teachers and school administration.
  • Capability to organize tasks and manage time effectively; ability to work with individual students as well as small and large groups; and skill in effectively communicating with students and staff.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies, internet and email systems, as well as word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
