Introduction

The Real Estate Assessments Office of Prince William County government is searching for a Residential Assistant Real Estate Assessments Manager in Woodbridge, Virginia. This position supervises 2-4 appraisal staff who perform professional work in the appraisal of real property (residential and vacant land) for assessment purposes.

About This Role:

This is a supervisory position that is responsible for analyzing property values, training new residential appraisers, and supervising subordinate staff members and department projects.

They will:

  • Supervise staff, including day-to-day operations as well as prioritizing, assigning and scheduling work and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Train all new residential appraisers.
  • Conducts complex appraisals of real property and appraisal reviews.
  • Provides customer assistance to citizens, other departments or other parties regarding appraisal processes.
  • Make hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and 7 years of combined assessment and supervisory experience, to include at least 2 years of supervisory experience and at least 3 years of experience appraising property for ad valorem tax purposes.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelors degree in an analytical or related field

Special Requirements:

Must have a valid drivers license.

The Selected Candidate is required to complete a Statement of Economic Interests pursuant to Va. Code §§ 2.2-3114, 2.2-3115, and 2.2-3116.

Work Schedule:

In person Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00 at our Woodbridge office.

Hiring Salary Range: $82,777.50 to $111,033.00/yr.
