Residential Supervisor
Reports to: Assistant Director of Residential Supports
Available openings: Louisville & La Grange
 
Full time; one weekend a month.  Supervisor will participate in on call rotation. Additional hours may occasionally be required to assist in filling vacant shifts.

What you’ll do:
 
This role assists with daily operations of specific Cedar Lake Residences’ (CLR) residential options. This role must function as a member of the CLR team and as such may provide supplementary assistance to any individual served by CLR.
  • Serve as a supervisor of assigned DSP staff, including coaching, training, mentoring, completing performance evaluations and administering corrective actions.
  • Handles day to day issues with DSP staff to ensure staff needs are met and issues are addressed in a timely and efficient/confidential manner.
  • Keeps the Assistant Director updated on employee concerns and successes.
  • Attend professional, staff meetings, and individual meetings as they include/affect DSP staff responsibilities.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of specific residential program clusters including routine financial management, purchasing, routine physical maintenance, housekeeping, resident schedules and transportation. 
  • Assumes primary responsibility for facilitating the development of individual goals with residents and resident’s team when appropriate.  Encourages implementation of goals with the objective of increasing self-reliance and independence. 
  • Ensures that required documentation is maintained and that documentation reflects progress and concerns regarding individual specific goals, daily living, skills, etc. 
  • Encourages community participation and facilitates cultivation of friendships. Provides guidance and direction on social and judgement issues, health and safety issues.
  • Encourages and assists residents in exercising their rights. 
  • Actively participates in the training and orienting of new DSPs.
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Director, ensures regulatory compliance.  Maintains and monitors appropriate documentation and records.  Operates within state regulations and established CLR standards.
  • Supervisor will audit 10% of client files at their designated location monthly.
  • Attend scheduled in-service training.
  • Monitors budget for corresponding residence.
  • Maintains availability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Supervisor will ensure FTSB transportation is being conducted and documented accordingly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works collaboratively with residents and parents/guardians regarding resident status and benefit coordination.
What sets you apart:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with individuals with IDD is strongly preferred. 
  • Other relevant experience includes supervisory/managerial experience, Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP), and other direct care responsibilities.
 
The Supervisor is responsible for supervisory roles such as evaluating performance, recommending wage changes, administering corrective action, initiating the change in job status such as hiring, promoting or termination of employment.
