Are you an experienced sales leader who enjoys coaching people, building teams, and driving measurable results?

CertaPro Painters® of Cary–Apex is seeking a hands-on Residential Sales Manager to lead the next stage of growth in our residential painting business.

This is an opportunity to build and develop a high-performing sales team—not simply manage an established one.

You'll begin by leading an existing Residential Sales Associate, recruiting and training one or two additional salespeople, and creating the coaching, accountability, and performance systems needed to achieve our growth objectives.

Your Key Responsibilities

Build and Develop the Team

• Recruit, onboard, train, and develop one or two additional Residential Sales Associates.
• Conduct regular one-on-one coaching, field ride-alongs, and sales meetings.
• Help salespeople improve their estimating, presentation, follow-up, and closing skills.
• Establish clear expectations and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Drive Sales Performance

• Lead the residential sales organization toward a $2.5 million annual sales objective.
• Maintain a focus on profitable selling and a 48% gross profit target.
• Coach established sales associates to achieve a minimum 50% close rate.
• Monitor individual and team performance, identify improvement opportunities, and take corrective action when needed.
• Manage sales forecasting, pipeline reviews, and performance reporting.

Lead by Example

• Occasionally conduct homeowner sales appointments and assist with challenging opportunities.
• Demonstrate effective sales techniques through joint appointments and field coaching.
• Partner with marketing and production leadership to improve customer experience and business results.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing salespeople.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and onboard successful sales team members.
• Strong background in consultative or relationship-based sales.
• Experience managing performance through goals, KPIs, and accountability.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Comfort using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to coach in the field.
• A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Experience in residential home services, remodeling, construction, or in-home sales is preferred. Painting industry experience is not required.
