What You'll Do

As a Residential HVAC Service Technician, you'll independently manage service calls, diagnose heating and cooling problems, and deliver an exceptional experience for homeowners.

Your responsibilities include:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot residential heating and cooling systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless equipment.
• Identify mechanical, electrical, airflow, refrigerant, and control-related problems using appropriate diagnostic procedures.
• Perform HVAC repairs, maintenance, tune-ups, and system performance evaluations.
• Identify equipment deficiencies, safety concerns, and opportunities to improve comfort, reliability, and efficiency.
• Evaluate system conditions and recommend appropriate repair, replacement, and upgrade options.
• Clearly explain diagnostic findings and available solutions to homeowners.
• Present pricing and options professionally, helping customers make informed decisions.
• Generate service revenue through appropriate recommendations, approved repairs, and quality work.
• Perform work in accordance with manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and company safety standards.
• Complete accurate service documentation, including findings, recommendations, materials, and completed work.
• Maintain professional workmanship, an organized service vehicle, and a positive customer experience.
• Work collaboratively with dispatch, field leadership, installation teams, and other technicians.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for experienced HVAC technicians who combine strong diagnostic abilities with accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to doing the job right.

 

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of residential or light commercial HVAC service experience.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Working knowledge of heating, cooling, refrigeration, electrical, and airflow systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage residential service calls.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to explain technical problems and solutions clearly to homeowners.
• Willingness to present repair and replacement options and participate in a performance-based compensation structure.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting equipment and working in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor environments, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC trade school certification or equivalent advanced technical training.
• Experience diagnosing high-efficiency furnaces, heat pumps, variable-speed equipment, and communicating systems.
• Strong understanding of refrigerant diagnostics, electrical controls, airflow, and system performance.
• Experience conducting residential maintenance and system evaluations.
• Experience presenting repair and replacement options directly to homeowners.
• Familiarity with digital service documentation and field service technology.
