What your day looks like
Based in Norfolk, VA, you’ll start your morning with a schedule of residential service calls. You arrive prepared to listen to the homeowner, assess system performance, and pinpoint the root cause—whether it’s a finicky furnace, a sluggish air conditioner, or a heat pump that won’t keep up. From there, you’ll determine the right fix, complete the repair or maintenance, and clearly explain options so customers feel confident and comfortable year-round.
How you make an impact
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across residential HVAC systems.
- Repair and maintain furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps to restore peak performance.
- Install replacement or new HVAC equipment when needed, following all applicable codes and standards.
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and next steps in a friendly, easy-to-understand way.
- Document work completed, parts utilized, and time on task with precision.
- Keep current with emerging HVAC technologies, best practices, and tools.
- Work safely—always—adhering to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal HVAC technical training preferred.
- Valid HVAC certification and VA HVAC Journeyman Mechanic license.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in residential HVAC repair and maintenance.
- Sharp diagnostic mindset and keen attention to detail.
- Clear, professional communication and customer service skills.
- Self-starter who manages time effectively in the field.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and work in varied conditions.
