    Role Overview

    As a Residential HVAC Field Diagnostics Technician with Mission Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, a Southern Home Services Company, you will service, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in both residential and commercial settings. You’ll troubleshoot complex problems, perform routine and emergency repairs, and ensure every system operates safely and efficiently. Customer communication, clean work practices, and detailed recordkeeping are core to this role.

    What You’ll Do

    • Clean, adjust, and repair HVAC equipment and components, including air handlers, ductwork, vents, and condensate drains.
    • Diagnose and perform service work on HVAC systems in residential settings to ensure optimal performance.
    • Provide expert HVAC solutions, clearly explaining issues and professional recommendations to customers.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    What You Bring

    • 2–5+ years of HVAC experience, preferably focused on residential work.
    • EPA Certification is required.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Proven diagnostic, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking ability.
    • Positive attitude with a commitment to superior workmanship and safety.
    • Customer-first mindset; skilled at communicating with clients and colleagues at all levels.
    • Collaborative, adaptable team player who thrives in dynamic environments.

    Physical Demands

    • Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
    • Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
    • Ability to drive.
    • Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces.
    • Ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
    • Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
    • Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
    • The work requires regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow.
