The Service Technician has been established to achieve the company goals in residential electrical service needs. The Service Technician will play an essential part in ensuring our customers' PV Systems and other energy systems perform at optimal levels through maintenance and repair.

Reporting Relationships:The Service Technician reports directly to the Area Superintendent. Area Superintendent reports directly to the Director of Construction. The Area Superintendent will work in conjunction with the Construction Manager to ensure all project goals are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee the completion of each service call and construction projects in accordance with the engineer's drawings and specifications and prevailing building codes. Ensure compliance with all contract documents.

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential solar and residential electrical equipment including batteries.Efficient in swapping RMAs. inverters and or Batteries.Efficient in commissioning new or replaced systems.Troubleshoot solar inverters, micro inverters, power optimizers and batteries.Troubleshoot PV ground faults, arc faults, and PV system wiring.Troubleshoot, repair, and commission PV monitoring equipment along with customer Ethernet connection.Contacting manufacturer to validate/authorize warranty replacement of equipment.Troubleshoot PV System performance issues for shade analysis interpretation/documentation and obtain required forensic photo documentation.Main Panel upgrades (all completed same day between 6-8 hrs.)Set up/administer home energy web-based accounts for PV solar and/or home consumption monitoring.Access rooftop systems and proper usage of extension ladders.Identify rooftop integrity and future potential problems.Provide materials lists, scope of work, and estimated timeline for repairs if return visits are required.Be knowledgeable with current NEC and OSHA codes.Installation of residential electrical circuits including EV Chargers, HVAC, SPA, and other branch circuits.Bending electrical conduit 1/2'' to 1-1/4'' in residential applications.Installing Romex wire in residential applications.Troubleshoot electrical ground faults/arc faults, and other common electrical problems in residential homes.Works with and understands blueprints, electrical schematics and job specifications.Properly Communicates effectively to clients about issues, provides valuable solutions, and uses pricing guide to present options to the homeowner.Work closely with Area Superintendent and Construction Manager on training needs and requirements for all field personnel.Perform other related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

The base pay for this position is $25.00 to 35.00 per hour.

POSITION REQUIRMENTS:

Availability: Standard workday is Monday thru Friday 7am to 4:30pm. If material is needed and you are required to pick up material before the first call, you must give yourself enough time to be at your first call by the expected service start time. Expectations after picking up material before actual service start time is to continue working through the Scheduled day. Completing all scheduled service calls.Emergency: One Week on Call Rotation. Rotation amount will depend on staff size. Examples- If 12 Techs are working, you will be on call every 12 weeks. If 10 techs are working, you will be on call every 10 weeks and so on.Company Vehicle: Position requires to operate a company vehicle. Clean MVR required. You are required to keep the vehicle stocked and ready for service calls. Vehicles must be clean at all times. Responsible for all company tools and IT Equipment.Appearance: Professional and respectful appearance at all times.Schedule: Ensure Daily schedule is completed each day. Service calls must be fully completed before leaving. If service calls run longer than expected, the expectation is all customers on schedule will be service by EOD.Travel: Some calls will require Riverside, Orange County, San Bernardino etc... Company Vehicles and gas cards are provided to each technician. Travel and drive time is not compensated between employee's residence to the jobsite or from the jobsite to residence.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment includes indoor as well as outdoor settings and can range in temperature from 30°F to 110°F. The work surface can include unfinished crawl spaces and attics as well as roof tops, walk-in freezers, and concrete floors or pads. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, climb, talk, hear, see and use complex repetitive motions. PAY TRANSPARENCY:The starting salary for this opportunity range is listed.
