    JOB TITLE:                             Residential Counselor

    EMPLOYMENT TYPE:          Full-time, 40 hours/week

    SCHEDULED HOURS:          Tuesday–Saturday 4pm–12am

    ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Mill house 

    Mills House is a community-based group home which provides 24-hour staffing and a built-in therapeutic component for 4 boys aged 14-21 who have experienced serious emotional and behavioral problems, and who have lived in more restrictive programs or institutions. The home allows the boys to live in a more familial, natural setting within the community. The program emphasizes maximizing each boy's ability to develop skills for living successfully outside of an institutional setting through the participation in normative community activities.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Maintains physical environment and program standards set by funders, accreditors, and agency policies.

    • Monitor self-administration of client medications in accordance with the agency medication policies and procedure as program may require.
    • Effectively utilizes appropriate communication methods/tools to effectively collaborate with co-workers and clients.
    • Teaches and assists all residents in areas of developmentally appropriate activities of daily living.
    • Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor.
    • Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one intervention as directed by the treatment plan.
    • Collaborates and coordinate care with providers and families as needed.
    • Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
    • Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
    • Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other meetings as assigned.
    • Additional duties as required.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      Education:  High diploma or GED required.

      Experience: Two years’ experience working with a relevant population preferred.

      COMPENSATION*:               

      $19.00/hr min-$24.89/hr max

      *Actual rates within this range are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
