Neil Kelly is seeking a charismatic, motivated Sales Consultant to join our Handyman Services team. This is a client-facing sales role designed for someone with hands-on experience in residential construction who enjoys working directly with homeowners. You will assess repair and remodeling needs, develop clear scopes of work, prepare estimates, and present thoughtful, practical solutions. The successful candidate brings both construction knowledge and the confidence to build relationships and close projects.

What Your Day Will Look Like

In this role, you will meet with homeowners to discuss repair and remodeling needs, assess project scope and budget, estimate costs, and present proposals. Once projects are sold, you will collaborate closely with in-house Project Managers to ensure successful execution. Responsibilities include:

  • Estimating, presenting, and selling residential repair and remodeling projects
  • Creating specifications, cost sheets, selections, rescission paperwork, and sketches or plans as needed (drafting support available)
  • Coordinating billing with office staff and collecting client payments
  • Assisting clients with financing options when needed
  • Maintaining clear communication with clients throughout the sales process

What You Bring

  • A combination of education and/or experience in residential repair, remodeling, building codes, estimating, and scope writing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Confidence and ability to make decisions quickly
  • Strong customer service and client relationship skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Reliable vehicle and a good driving record
  • Ability to work in a variety of job-site conditions including uneven surfaces, stairs, ladders, and confined spaces; some climbing, stooping, crawling, and reaching required

What We Offer

Compensation includes a base salary of $4,000 per month, plus commission and benefits. An additional training salary of $2,000 per month is provided during the first six months of employment. Commissions are earned during training and ongoing thereafter.

Established Sales Consultants typically earn $60,000-$90,000+ annually.

This role serves the Portland metro area and is not remote. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the Portland metro area or be willing to relocate by their start date.
