Conduct inspections on new construction, remodels, and residential renovationsEnsure compliance with state and local building codesPartner with contractors, designers, and property owners to explain requirements and resolve issuesInvestigate complaints and follow through to resolutionDocument findings, prepare reports, and track compliancePerform follow-up inspections on code violationsInterpret and apply building codes with sound judgment and professionalism
What You Bring to the TableYou're not entry-level-you've been in the field and know how construction really works:
High School Diploma or GED8+ years of experience as a licensed residential contractorValid Allen County Contractor License, Inspector Certification, or the ability to achieve licenses within 12 months of hire.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plansStrong understanding of residential building codes and practicesSolid communication skills-you can explain complex code requirements in plain languageBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office and reporting tools)Valid Driver's License
