We are currently seeking an Assistant Service Manager to help lead residential building maintenance at our 81-unit community in College Park, Maryland. This is a manager in training role intended to prepare you with the technical skills, leadership skills and experience to advance your career to a Service Manager. Your New RoleAs an Assistant Service Manager, you ensure our communities are great places to live by keeping thebuilding safe, clean and inviting and by resolving maintenance issues in residents' apartment homes. Asa manager in training, you develop leadership skills and learn more complex technical responsibilitieslike budgeting, preventative maintenance and project management. The majority of your day is spentproviding outstanding customer service and attending to HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliancemaintenance tickets. You assist with apartment turns, move ins, move outs and general upkeep ofbuilding common areas and grounds. You are an important member of a larger team responsible forensuring the residents of the community have an exceptional experience as part of the WPC family. What Sets You ApartExperience:You have a minimum of four years of trusted experience in residential, commercial,healthcare, and/or hospitality building maintenance and a track record of exceptional customer service.Skills:Youdemonstrate strength in building trades. You enjoy interactions with all types of people andtake pride in your ability to make the customer happy by solving their maintenance issues. You treateveryone with kindness and respect. You are organized, neat and have an eye for detail.
A high school GED is required. Trade school degree or coursework a plus. Physical Requirements/Work Conditions:You must possess the ability to lif, carry or move heavyequipment and boxes (up to 50lbs), regularly ascend or descend a ladder, or stand or sit for long periodsof tme. You may berequired to work irregular hours (overnight, weekends, overtme). The physicalwork environment includes occasionally working outside, sometimes in inclement weather.
