Resident Services Housekeeper
Champlain Valley Senior Community is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and compassionate Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, families, and staff.
Responsibilities:
• Clean and sanitize resident apartments, bathrooms, common areas, offices, hallways, and other assigned spaces
• Dust furniture, fixtures, windowsills, and other surfaces
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and carpeting
• Clean bathrooms, toilets, sinks, showers, mirrors, and other fixtures
• Empty trash and replace liners
• Make beds and change linens as assigned
• Assist with laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens or residents’ clothing
• Refill soap, paper products, and other housekeeping supplies
• Follow established cleaning schedules and complete assigned tasks on time
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to instructions
• Follow infection-control, sanitation, and safety procedures
• Immediately report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or unusual conditions
• Respect residents’ privacy, personal belongings, dignity, and independence
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, coworkers, and supervisors
• Assist with additional cleaning needs during special events, emergencies, or outbreaks
Qualifications:
• Previous housekeeping experience is preferred but not required
• Experience in assisted living, senior care, healthcare, or hospitality is helpful
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Compassionate and comfortable working around older adults, including residents with memory loss
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to safely perform the physical duties of the position, including standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and pushing cleaning equipment
• Must successfully complete all required background checks, health requirements, training, and employment documentation
Schedule:
Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available. Weekend and holiday availability may be required based on the facility’s needs.
