    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The primary responsibilities of resident/intern trainees are to provide competent, compassionate patient care; work effectively as a member of the health care team; and meet the educational goals of his or her specific program.

    Resident/interns are also expected to:

    o Teach and mentor junior resident/interns and medical students

    o Consistently act with integrity and honesty

    o Function as an effective team member

    o Effectively manage conflict

    o Develop life-long learning skills

    o Attend all required educational conferences and participate in the planning of conferences per each program''s requirements

    o Provide data on their educational experience to their program director

    o Provide evaluations of their teachers and service rotations

    o Carry out administrative responsibilities, such as dictation of discharge summaries, in a timely manner

    o Participate in medical center and departmental committees

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

    • Graduation from an accredited Osteopathic Medical School
    • Successful completion of Comlex Step I CE, Comlex Step II CE, and Complex Step II PE
    • BLS and ACLS certification
    • Permit to practice medicine granted by the Department of Public Health

    EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of 4 years of Osteopathic Medical Education
