    Position Summary
    The Resident Care Manager will coordinate, manage and supervise Resident care as assigned. This
    includes the responsibility of implementing and ensuring completion of systems of care. Establishes and
    implements Nursing Dept. policies and procedures. The Resident Care Manager must demonstrate
    knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the residents served,
    knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, and be able to identify and
    work to meet each resident’s age-specific needs.

    Job Description
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Under the direction of the Administrator and the Director of Nursing Services, as appropriate, the
    Resident Care manager will:
    Establish and maintain appropriate staffing for facility, (recruit, hire, train and discharge, staff as
    appropriate)
    Provide direct supervision of nursing staff as assigned (24 hour accountability).
    Conduct all resident assessments in a timely manner – initial, admission, ongoing, change of
    condition
    Establish care plans to reflect resident assessment documentation.
    Initiate and attend resident care conferences as needed
    Address and find resolution to family and resident complaints/concerns in a timely
    Complete the AIMS, Fall Risk, Skin at Risk, Smoking, Psychotropic medication evaluations and
    other resident assessments as necessary.
    Conduct resident rounds with staff as needed
    Note/transcribe physician orders.
    Handle telephone calls from physicians, pharmacy, other care providers, etc.
    Order medications from pharmacy.
    Ensure proper and timely documentation on all resident documentation systems
    Attend departmental meetings as assigned.
    Review all admission orders and admission assessments for completion and accuracy.
    Appropriate delegation and oversight of duties to Licensed staff
    Delegate assignments with awareness of qualifications necessary for completion of duties
    Implement established protocols in addressing resident care
    Administer and evaluate of resident response to medications.
    Assure compliance with resident treatment orders.
    Formulate and implement nursing plan of care and orders.
    Evaluate Resident Response to nursing intervention for continuance of revisions.
    Coordinate multidisciplinary plan of care.
    Assure narcotic count log is current and accurate.
    Assure that charting demonstrates resident condition and is reflective of the nursing care and
    services provided.
    Ensure that all incident reports are completed and reported per state regulations.
    Demonstrate technical nursing skills.
    Coordinate new employee orientation and orientation for employees in a new position/role.
    Will complete payroll in a timely manner
    Complete yearly performance evaluations and competency tests for staff.
    Counsels/reprimands/terminates personnel as per organizational policies and procedures and
    Union contract.
    Develop and implement Quality Improvement activities as needed
    Participates in organizational/community events and activities.
    Performs other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications
    Recognition of ANA Standards, Scope of Gerontological Nursing Process in Practice.
    Evidence of Supervisory and Leadership skills.
    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Excellent verbal and written skills required.
    Bilingual and bi-literate Spanish language preferred.
    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Basic math skills required.
    Must be able to calculate appropriate drug dosages for dispensation and set IV drip rates.
    REASONING ABILITY
    Must have the ability to problem solve and utilize common sense and appropriate safety
    measures when practicing care and/or making recommendation on care practice.
    Must be able to guide and assist employee and residents to appropriate chain of command when
    addressing employee/client concern(s).
    Education and Experience, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, and Medical Screening
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse.
    Current professional licensure in Washington.
    Experience in Long Term Care preferred.
    Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or LPN.
    Registered Nurse; or LPN with 1 or more years of experience preferred; supervisory
    experience strongly preferred.
    Current professional licensure in Washington.
    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
    This position must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and is
    required to maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.
    Must complete a pre-hire and annual TB test screening.
    Annual employee health screening required 
    Annual TB test required
    Annual influenza vaccine required. Only exception is for employees with a medical or religious
    exemption approved by Administration. Employees with an approved medical or religious
    exemption must wear a mask at all times during the flu season.
    Work Environment
    Professional office setting with moderate to high volume of noise i.e. - ringing of telephones, fax
    machines, noise operations of copy machine and conversation background noise.
    Physical Requirements
    This position required frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
    Clear tone of speech, hearing, and close/long distance vision abilities required.
