As a Resident Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by assisting them in various aspects of daily living.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Help residents with daily living, including: toileting, bathing, washing, dressing, shaving, cooking, and serving food
· Maintain cleanliness of home and resident rooms through assigned housekeeping duties
· Assist with other tasks such as recreational and social activities for residents
· Provide physical assistance to residents who have limited mobility by helping them walk or transporting them in wheelchairs
· Helping residents maintain independence, promoting dignity and physical safety of each resident
· Perform administrative tasks such as: answering phones, greeting visitors, and complete documentation of care and assistance that transpired during their shift
· Follow state guidelines for medication administration

Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to communicate effectively with Residents, management, and co-workers, resident family and visitors
· Reliable and dependable with attendance and punctuality
· Possesses good character and displays high degree of personal integrity. Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults.
· Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Must be able to recognize condition changes of a resident and be able to report this immediately to management
· Must be 18 years of age
· Must be able to work every other weekend and rotating holidays
· Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds, assist with resident transfers, and promptly respond to resident and emergency needs with or without reasonable accommodation
· Ability to pass DHS and criminal background check
**Prior experience as a caregiver or in an assisted living environment is a plus but NOT required***
