    POSITION SUMMARY
     
    The Residence Hall Assistant (RHA) is a federal work study student position designed to support the day-to-day operations of the residence halls. RHAs staff the front desk, assist residents and guests, and provide customer service while helping maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive residential community.
     
     
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Staff the front desk during scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends.
    • Greet residents and guests, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service.
    • Monitor building access and ensure adherence to residence hall security protocols.
    • Assist residence hall staff with programs, events, and community-building initiatives.
    • Report maintenance needs, safety issues, and policy concerns to professional staff promptly.
    • Maintain confidentiality and uphold campus housing policies.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by residence life staff.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Must be a current student enrolled in the federal work study program and in good academic standing.
    • Dependable, punctual, and able to commit to scheduled shifts (evenings and weekends required).
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Demonstrated professionalism, respect for confidentiality, and commitment to fostering an inclusive community.
     
    WORK SCHEDULE
    • Shifts vary based on residence hall needs; evening and weekend availability is required.
    • Hours are contingent upon federal work study award allocation and student class schedule.
     
    COMPENSATION
     
    Hourly rate based on federal work study guidelines.
