Manage and analyze data using industry software including Val Nav, SQL, Spotfire, Power BI, IHS Enerdeq, Enverus, WellView, Petroleum Experts (MBAL, Prosper, GAP), Procount, KAPPA Saphir, and GOMsmart. This role will provide technical and analytical support for long-term planning, annual budgeting, quarterly reserves, production analysis, and data management.

Reservoir Engineering Technician – Contract Job Summary
We are seeking a Reservoir Engineering Technician to support offshore subsurface teams and contribute to data-driven business processes. This role will provide technical and analytical support for long-term planning, annual budgeting, quarterly reserves, production analysis, and data management.

The position will also help integrate data sources, develop dashboards and analytical tools, and improve data quality and visibility to support timely, informed business decisions.

This is a full-time contract position.

Schedule:

• 
  Monday–Thursday: 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  
• 
  Friday: 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  
• 
  Remote work on Fridays may be available depending on business needs.
  

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Manage and analyze data using industry software including Val Nav, SQL, Spotfire, Power BI, IHS Enerdeq, Enverus, WellView, Petroleum Experts (MBAL, Prosper, GAP), Procount, KAPPA Saphir, and GOMsmart.
  
• 
  Support engineers and geoscientists with large datasets, visualizations, and analysis related to production, reserves, planning, well performance, and well tests.
  
• 
  Assist with financial analysis, well logs, production performance, and related engineering data.
  
• 
  Prepare and maintain wellbore utility charts and support AFE creation and inventory readiness.
  
• 
  Identify opportunities to improve data integration and workflows across operations.
  
• 
  Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and quality-control processes to improve data accuracy and visibility.
  
• 
  Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
  
• 
  Work independently and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
  

Required Qualifications

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geology, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
  
• 
  Minimum 4 years of reservoir engineering technician experience.
  
• 
  Understanding of upstream oil and gas economics and SEC requirements.
  
• 
  Working knowledge of drilling, completions, production operations, and upstream oil and gas terminology.
  
• 
  Offshore and/or conventional asset experience preferred.
  
• 
  Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  
• 
  Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  Experience with back-end database administration for industry software.
  
• 
  Strong SQL, Spotfire/Power BI, and Microsoft Excel skills.
  
• 
  Strong organizational and data-management skills.
  
• 
  Self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement.
