Reservation Specialist
Barkaritaville Pet Resort - San Antonio, TX Full-Time | On-Site | Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM-6:00 PM Starting Pay: $16.00/hour + Tips and Monthly Performance Bonus
Love pets, love people, and enjoy helping customers make decisions?
Barkaritaville Pet Resort is looking for an energetic, confident, and personable Reservation Specialist to join our San Antonio team.
This is more than a position answering phones and booking reservations. It is a customer experience and sales role where you will often be the first person a pet parent speaks with when deciding who they can trust to care for an important member of their family.
Your role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, build trust, and confidently help pet parents choose the services that best meet their pet's needs.
You'll also assist our existing loyal clients with reservations, questions, and service recommendations while creating the kind of experience that makes them feel confident about choosing Barkaritaville.
If you're a strong communicator who enjoys connecting with people, takes pride in getting the details right, and is motivated by achieving goals, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
As the "voice" of Barkaritaville Pet Resort and one of our brand ambassadors, you will:

This Is a Customer Experience & Sales Position
Loving animals certainly makes working at Barkaritaville more enjoyable, but this position is first and foremost about people, communication, client experience, and sales.
Pet parents are trusting us with a beloved member of their family. That is an important and often emotional decision.
A great Reservation Specialist doesn't simply ask, "What dates do you need?"
Instead, you take the time to learn about the pet, understand what matters to the pet parent, answer questions, recommend appropriate services, and build enough trust that our client feels confident saying:
"Yes, this is where I want my pet to stay."
Our Training & Sales Process
We invest in professional training and ongoing coaching because we want our Reservation Specialists to succeed.
We use proven phone scripts and communication processes to ensure important information is consistently covered and every pet parent receives a professional experience.
We do not expect you to sound scripted.
We'll teach you how to use our process naturally so conversations feel warm, confident, and personalized.
Because many of the details discussed with pet parents are important to the health and safety of the pets in our care, we do expect team members to learn and consistently follow our established processes.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly how to do this job. We will train you.
What we do ask is that you come with an open mind, welcome coaching and feedback, and be willing to use the systems and processes designed to help you succeed.
About Barkaritaville Pet Resort
Barkaritaville Pet Resort is family-owned and operated for over 17 years, with its first location in Corpus Christi, Texas. You'll work in our beautiful, award-winning San Antonio location.
While loving animals makes working here more fun, our Reservation Specialists are professionals. We invest in training, provide ongoing coaching, and expect our team members to take pride in delivering an exceptional experience to every pet parent who contacts us or walks through our doors.
THIS PROBABLY ISN'T THE JOB FOR YOU IF...
We want to be transparent about what it takes to be successful as a Reservation Specialist at Barkaritaville Pet Resort. This role may not be the right fit for you if:
You don't like using a script. We use a proven sales and communication process because it works for our pet parents, our team, and our business. We don't expect you to sound scripted. In fact, quite the opposite. We'll teach you how to use our scripts, so the conversation feels comfortable, confident, and completely natural. But you do need to be willing to learn and consistently use the process since many of the details we cover are necessary for the health and safety of each dog who stays with us.
You prefer to do things "your own way" rather than trust the training and coaching. We invest in professional training and ongoing coaching because we want you to be successful. You don't have to arrive knowing exactly how to do this job. We will teach you. What we do ask is that you come with an open mind, be receptive to coaching, and trust a process that has been designed to help you succeed.
You see this position as simply taking orders. Our pet parents aren't ordering a product. They're trusting us with a beloved family member, and that's a big emotional decision.
Great Reservation Specialists don't rush to ask, "What dates do you need?" They slow down long enough to learn about the pet, understand what matters to the pet parent, and have a meaningful conversation about how we can help. Your job isn't simply to book a reservation. It's to build enough trust that a pet parent feels confident saying, "Yes, this is where I want my pet to stay."
If that sounds like the way you believe clients should be treated, you may be exactly who we're looking for.
Ready to Join Our Team?
If you're looking for more than "just another phone job" and want an opportunity to use your personality, communication skills, attention to detail, and sales ability in a rewarding pet care environment, we'd love to hear from you.
