A research technician position is available in the Department of Immunobiology to advance profiling of T cell responses to microbial infections and cancer. The successful candidate will perform experiments with cell lines and primary T cells in vitro and in mouse models on a collaborative project with investigators at the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Institute. Other responsibilities will include lab ordering, mouse handling, attending lab meetings, and routine lab maintenance tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities

Conducting Individual Experiments and Data Analysis:

  • Conduct scientific experiments and perform data collection and analysis for assigned research projects, exercising independent judgment in selecting, adapting, and implementing appropriate research methods and procedures.

Data Analysis, Interpretation, and Reporting:

  • Compile and organize research data, perform statistical analyses following experimental replicates, and conduct preliminary interpretation of findings to support publications, reports, presentations, and other research deliverables.
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures and data, and provide data to the PI to support grant submissions, publications, and presentation of results.
  • Determine and acquire specialized parts, materials, equipment, and services required for laboratory operations, and maintain inventory and associated bookkeeping records.
  • Train and guide students and staff in the operation of equipment and performance of technical procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
