8am - 5pm ; Monday to Friday

Pay Rate $21 Minimum Experience/Education

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, cell biology or related discipline and a minimum of three years of laboratory research experience.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

Candidates must have good communication and organizational skills and be able to work effectively within a collaborative research team. Experience in cell culture is required. Candidates with experience in stem cell culture, including the derivation and maintenance of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) or primordial germ cell-like cells (PGCLCs), are strongly preferred. Experience with mouse colony management, genotyping, and immunofluorescence is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a primordial germ cell-like cell (PGCLC) differentiation platform in the Hatkevich Lab, including the culture and maintenance of mouse embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
  • Perform routine stem cell culture, passaging, and quality control
  • Genotype mice
  • Perform immunofluorescence (IF) and assist with imaging on the UNC Charlotte Microscopy Imaging Core instruments
  • Manage lab ordering, inventory, and reagent preparation, as needed
  • Maintain lab organization, including upkeep of shared spaces, reagent stocks, and the lab Google Drive
  • Assist graduate students, postdocs, and the PI with experiments as needed
