Who we are A part of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center, Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas was founded in 1905 and is a nationally recognized center for oral health sciences education, research, specialized patient care and continuing dental education. What you need to know

• Proposed Salary: $20.00 hourly
• Work Schedule/Location: Located in Dallas, TX, this is an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of related lab work experience, to include animal handling.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in related field.
• Experience with animal handling/experiments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

Animal Care and Research:

• Assists in conducting experiments and technical procedures.
• Performs laboratory research activities.
• Assists undergraduate and graduate students with their research projects.
• Animal care, genotype and surgery procedures.
• Sample collection and preparation.

Histological/Microscopy:

• Image analysis/photography, histological preparation/cutting of tissues.
• Animal model preparation.
• Makes and records observations and measurements.
• Maintains animal reports and data files.

Research Technical Support:

• Assembles and operates technical equipment.
• Sets-up and maintains equipment for the assigned laboratory and updates laboratory computers.
• Maintains laboratories according to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) specifications.
• Provides logistical support with computers in the laboratory.
• Performs laboratory and prep room cleanup daily.
