Responsibilities:
This position entails joining the laboratory with a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary cardiovascular research environment. The Research Technician II will support an established research program focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying cardiovascular disease. Current projects investigate how alcohol consumption influences vascular remodeling, endothelial cell plasticity, endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT), arteriosclerosis, and vessel homeostasis. The successful candidate should have an interest in cardiovascular biology, vascular disease, cellular signaling, and translational research. The candidate will contribute to studies utilizing cell culture models, molecular and cellular biology techniques, animal models, and advanced genomic approaches to investigate mechanisms of cardiovascular disease.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and senior laboratory personnel, the Research Technician II will perform a variety of research activities in support of ongoing projects. Responsibilities include conducting laboratory experiments; maintaining cell cultures and laboratory records; assisting with animal studies; collecting, organizing, and analyzing research data; preparing laboratory reagents and supplies; and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory requirements. The Research Technician II will assist with implementing established experimental protocols, maintaining research equipment, and supporting the preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and grant-related materials. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team, and a commitment to supporting the laboratory's scientific mission and goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
2-3 years specialized experience in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Animal husbandry and colony management preferred
