Research & Development Manager (Nutraceuticals)

A fast-growing, Los Angeles-based women’s health company is seeking an R&D Manager to help develop and commercialize innovative products across women’s health, wellness, supplements, and personal care.

The role will support both new product development and existing portfolio optimization, working closely with the VP of R&D and cross-functional partners to move concepts from research through launch.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop differentiated, science-backed products from concept through commercialization
• Research ingredients, emerging trends, novel formats, and product feasibility
• Conduct literature reviews and prepare scientific substantiation for product claims
• Coordinate development timelines and help keep projects on track through launch
• Review formulations, samples, specifications, efficacy, and cost targets
• Support packaging/artwork review and regulatory compliance
• Provide scientific support for marketing materials, landing pages, and consumer-facing content
• Reformulate and optimize existing products as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline
• 3–6 years of experience in R&D, product development, and/or regulatory affairs within supplements, functional foods, skincare, or related consumer health categories
• Strong technical research, ingredient evaluation, project management, and vendor-management skills
• Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills
