Ideal candidates must be available to work onsite three days during the first week and maintain some onsite presence during the first 30-45 days. Following this initial period, the role will transition to a hybrid work schedule.
The ideal candidate is a detail oriented and collaborative research professional with a strong interest in gastrointestinal cancers and endoscopy focused research. They have experience supporting principal investigators across study design, initiation, data collection, and results reporting, and are skilled in developing and maintaining research databases that include surgical, endoscopic, pathology, treatment, and dosimetry data using Epic and other systems. This individual works closely with program analysts to generate data reports aligned with investigator direction and assists with retrospective studies.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational and technical writing skills, contributing to and editing abstracts, manuscripts, protocols, grants, and reports under investigator supervision, while reviewing manuscripts prior to submission. They are knowledgeable in regulatory documentation and compliance requirements, respond to compliance related inquiries, support grant submissions, and coordinate data with participating institutions. Effective communication skills are essential, as the role serves as a liaison among patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams while maintaining accuracy, discretion, and scientific integrity.
*Job Duties and Responsibilities*
• Assist principal investigators with scientific research projects focused on gastrointestinal cancers and endoscopy related studies.
• Support the design, initiation, and execution of research projects under investigator supervision.
• Collaborate with program analysts to generate data reports in accordance with principal investigator direction.
• Develop, maintain, and manage research databases containing surgical, endoscopic, pathology, treatment, and dosimetry data using Epic and other data systems.
• Collect, abstract, and complete research data forms, including films, treatment records, surgical data, and pathology information.
• Submit project findings, analyses, and results to principal investigators in a timely and accurate manner.
• Conduct literature reviews and work with investigators to evaluate, adapt, and implement research methodologies as needed.
• Maintain all regulatory documentation for research projects and respond to compliance related inquiries as required.
• Assist with preparation of documentation, data summaries, and reports for grant submissions.
• Provide technical writing support, including drafting and editing abstracts, manuscripts, protocols, grants, reports, and other scientific correspondence under investigator direction.
• Review manuscripts for accuracy, clarity, and compliance prior to submission to publishing entities.
• Assist physicians with retrospective study development and manuscript preparation.
• Coordinate research data exchange with collaborating institutions participating in multi site studies.
• Serve as a liaison among patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary research teams.
• Orient and support facility personnel involved in research activities.

* Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
