Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary

We are recruiting a Research Coordinator to support clinical research activities within a translational metabolic research laboratory at the USDA/ARS Children''s Nutrition Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine. The selected candidate will provide coordination support for a productive research program, working closely with research participants and multidisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities include coordinating research activities, maintaining regulatory documentation, recruiting participants, and carrying out research protocol procedures in accordance with established guidelines.

Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate the needs of children and their families, with the research unit open two Saturdays per month.

The Research Coordinator III will also provide guidance and training to junior research coordinators on regulatory requirements and clinical research processes, while supporting participant recruitment efforts through community outreach events and engagement with community clinics.

Job Duties

Primary Role is to serve as the Community & Stakeholder Engagement Lead for multiple studies in the PI''s Lab with responsibility for engagement strategies and cross-site communication. This role will focus on participant recruitment and retention efforts.

• Recruitment through the electronic health records (10%)
• Recruitment through clinics which involves coordination with clinic managers and on-site presence as needed (20%)
• Coordinates community engagement and recruitment activities at those events (20%)
• Coordination of provider and parent stakeholders quarterly meetings and develop presentations and reports of these meetings (5%)
• Responsible for Maintenance of Research Database relevant for recruitment and community outreach activities (5%)
• Submission of research materials to regulatory agencies (IRB; research units; and community centers) as needed to facilitate recruitment and advertisement (5%)
• Serves as a liaison and distributes research information to principal investigator, faculty, research staff, and others as required (5%)
• Participate in the conduct of study protocol visits and providing guidance/assisting to junior members in research related activities (30%)
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
• Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master''s degree in a relevant field.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Minimum of three years of relevant research, clinical, or healthcare-related experience.
• Experience with REDCap and maintenance of research databases.
• Experience supporting or coordinating clinical trials.
• Experience processing and shipping biologic specimens.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, conditions, and patient populations.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary teams.
