Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Research Coordinator will conduct literature reviews, manage and analyze quantitative data, and contribute to manuscripts and reports. The role will also provide biostatistics and statistical consulting, assist in coordinating summer workshops and training programs, and support research-related consultations for INBRE and other training programs. The analyst will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to ensure high-quality research outcomes.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Requires a master's degree in area of research specialty.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a Master's degree in a health-related field (e.g. statistics, biostatistics, and/or data science ) by the time of appointment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Other qualifications include expertise in big data analysis (including artificial intelligence and machine learning), quantitative methodology, strong analytic skills, ability to take initiative and work independently, high standard of work ethic, effective oral and written communication skills, and proficiency in at least one analysis software including SAS, R, or Python.

Project Coordination and Management

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of Data Science Core for the SC INBRE and other related NIH-funded training/research initiatives.
  • Assist with scheduling, logistics, and communications among investigators, research staff, and partnering institutions.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure adherence to grant objectives.
  • Maintain project documentation, including protocols, progress reports, and meeting minutes.

Grants Administration and Compliance

  • Support the preparation and submission of progress reports, renewal applications, and other grant-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with NIH, institutional, and IRB policies for research conduct and data management.
  • Assist with tracking budgets, expenditures, and justifications in collaboration with administrative and fiscal staff.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Oversee collection, organization, and entry of research and programmatic data for internal and external reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of presentations, summaries, and dashboards highlighting project outcomes.

  • Serve as a liaison between SC INBRE leadership, collaborating institutions, and external partners.
  • Coordinate workshops, webinars, and meetings to support program activities and faculty development.
  • Develop and distribute communication materials such as newsletters, updates, and project briefs.

  • Support faculty and student participants in research-related activities and documentation.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and dissemination of research outcomes, publications, and conference presentations.
