Overview
The Research Compliance Administrator leads and coordinates Auburn University at Montgomery's (AUM's) research compliance programs to ensure all research activities adhere to federal, state, and institutional regulations. This role manages major compliance areas-including IRB, IACUC, biosafety/biosecurity, responsible conduct of research, export controls, material/data transfer agreements, and time & effort reporting. The Administrator oversees protocol review systems, facilitates compliance committee operations, and helps to develop policies and procedures governing ethical and responsible research. The position conducts regulatory reviews, audits, inspections, and post-approval monitoring to maintain institutional readiness for federal oversight and accreditation. Serving as a central campus resource, the role advises faculty, staff, and administrators on compliance requirements and emerging regulatory issues while supporting training, audits, and site visits across the university.

Qualifications
BS, MS or PhD in a relevant discipline
Successful candidates must have earned at least a bachelor's degree in one or more of the following disciplines, or another area related to the position duties:
Applicants with an advanced degree (MS, PhD, other) and professional experience in a regulatory role would also represent strong candidates. Alternatively, a bachelor's in science and one of the more challenging professional certifications is also highly competitive. Examples of such certificates include Certified Health Physicist (CHP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Biological Safety Professional (CBSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Professional in IACUC Administration (CPIA), Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
