Job Title: Research Associate Field Research
Location: Beaverton, OR
Duration: 08 months
Hybrid: Mon Thurs onsite, Fri remote
Job Description:
On-site role at PHK; typical work hours, 4/1 hybrid schedule (some Fridays may be required on-site depending on business needs)
Possibility for domestic travel
Degree highly preferred; something in the realm of movement science would be beneficial (biomechanics, kinesiology, biomedical engineering, etc.)
Minimum of 2 years experience in human participant research
Top must-have skills include the following:
Experience with data processing, aggregation, analysis, and visualization
Hands-on experience with human subject testing
Creative problem solving
Experience in performance research
Strong organizational and communication skills
Python/Matlab programming knowledge would be preferred, but not required
Additional Details:
ETW will assist with larger scale field-based research studies, working with athletes to study movement
Will work with ~2 others on the core team, broader team consists of ~5-10
1 round of interviews anticipated, 2 if necessary
The Field Research team in the NSRL studies athletes as they move outside of the Lab, in their daily lives and environments, using sensors, surveys, and more.
We are looking for a passionate Research Associate to help plan and execute large scale field research initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day logistics and support data collection & analysis for sport research programs.
Interact with researchers, athletes, and other staff to communicate study details, troubleshoot equipment, and provide updates.
Oversee inventory management of research tools and product.
Summarize and visualize data from research.
Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations.
Skills:
Familiarity with biomechanics, performance research, wearable sensors, motion capture, and force plates.
Experience with data processing, aggregation, analysis, and visualization.
Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Matlab preferred.
High level of initiative and ability to perform tasks independently.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Exposure to industry research preferred.
