Overview
The Research Associate will participate in the administration and monitoring of a multi-site clinical trial evaluating the impact of a novel stepped care behavioral intervention versus treatment as usual on opioid use disorder medication treatment among women who have experienced intimate partner violence. Study activities are being conducted in partnership with local opioid treatment programs (OTPs), where study activities are occurring. The Research Associate is responsible for coordinating recruitment, engaging directly with study participants, conducting research visits, and maintaining accurate and meticulous documentation. The Research Associate is responsible for reviewing data gathered during research contacts and related documentation to ensure compliance with the study protocol. The Research Associate liaises with partnering site staff to facilitate smooth progression and adherence to study protocols, collaborates with the PIs and research manager to plan, document, and implement changes related to both study and site-specific protocols, communicating protocol changes to and support research assistant with implementing the study protocol, assists in tracking and reporting of adverse events, serious adverse events, protocol deviations and research errors. This position requires travel to multiple research sites within CT (e.g., Bridgeport, West Haven, and North Haven and additional sites as added). Personal transportation is required.
Required Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated experience with research trials, including participant recruitment and interviewing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the research team and OTP provider staff and clients.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic data collection tools.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
Experience preparing IRB protocols, amendments, and funder progress reports.
Experience conducting research or working with women with substance use disorders
Experience working on large-scale research studies or multi-site visits
Experience working in REDCap and familiarity with SPSS
