    Here's a Glimpse of the Job

    The Research Assistant will overexpress, purify, and characterize biotin sulfoxide reductase, attend weekly research meetings, and write a quarterly research report.

    Opportunities to Contribute:

    • Select and apply standard laboratory techniques, operate research equipment, and maintain detailed data records.

    • Perform data analysis and evaluate experimental results using ChemDraw, PyMOL, and basic bioinformatics tools.

    • Write quarterly research reports summarizing experimental progress, data analysis, and findings.

    • Assist with documenting laboratory records.

    • Attend and participate in weekly research meetings.

    • Assist with general laboratory coordination and collaborate with team members.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    A well-qualified candidate may also possess:

    • Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.

    • Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.

    • Attention to detail.

    Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.

    Special Note: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon the availability of these funds in the future.
