Research & Development Technician to join the R&D team of a leading global manufacturer in Spartanburg, SC. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a technical laboratory and manufacturing environment while helping develop and improve innovative polymer products.
What You’ll Do- Work alongside R&D Scientists to evaluate new polymer formulations and product developments
- Conduct assigned laboratory and production trials safely and accurately
- Provide analytical support for new customer requirements and manufacturing challenges
- Perform compounding, film, bottle, and other product trials
- Gather data and assist with troubleshooting process and production issues
- Accurately document test results, observations, and trial data
- Maintain laboratory equipment and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition
- Follow established SOPs, safety procedures, and EH&S requirements
- Collaborate with R&D, applications development, manufacturing, and other technical teams
What We’re Looking ForRequired:- Associate degree with 3+ years of experience OR high school diploma/GED with 5+ years of experience in a physical or life sciences laboratory environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures
- Ability to accurately document testing, observations, and results
- Basic mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pumps, motors, and machine maintenance
- Strong computer skills for recording and managing data
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Safety-focused mindset with the ability to recognize and communicate potential hazards
Preferred Experience- Knowledge of organic chemistry
- Experience with polymer synthesis or polymer processing
- Hands-on experience with laboratory analytical and characterization equipment
