The Research Administrator II is responsible for assisting investigators and staff with activities related to the lifecycle of sponsored projects and clinical trials. This is a cradle to grave grants administration position that includes proposal development and submission, award and contract negotiation and acceptance, and award management including invoicing, budget monitoring, and audit compliance. The ideal candidate will hold a professional certification such as CRA (Certified Research Administrator), CFRA (Certified Financial Research Administrator), or CPRA (Certified Pre-Award Administrator).
Note: Work location is on-site with the flexibility to work remotely, the primary location will be in-office for meetings, per Kaiser Permanente-s Authorized States Policy - Employees may be required to travel to a Kaiser Permanente or customer site. Job Summary:
Participates in the pre-award and/or post-award administration of research contracts and grants. Supports and may perform the drafting and review of proposal application elements to prepare submissions in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and KP policies and procedures. Develops and justifies project budgets and revises budgets in correspondence with award documents, with minimal guidance. Participates in the ongoing monitoring of awards and research processes and guidance for compliance with applicable terms, regulations, and KP policies and procedures. Participates in award closeout, working with the project team to prepare and submit reports to sponsors, with some guidance. Prepares and provides research accounting documentation and entries, with some guidance. Participates in month- and/or year-end close, and/or audit-related processes. Begins to review and route incoming and outgoing agreements, and may begin to negotiate basic contracts and agreements.
