Job Summary
Minnesota Housing is hiring! We're a mission-focused financial institution looking for a RFA Underwriter who will administer, evaluate and process multifamily loan servicing requests, including changes in ownership, changes in use, payoffs, assumptions, subordinations, and modifications to Agency loans on existing projects. The position exercises technical judgment to balance Agency mission, financial considerations and program compliance while serving as a primary contact for borrowers, attorneys, and internal teams. This role contributes to the effective operation and continuous improvement of the Agency's preservation efforts by ensuring clear, timely and compliant servicing decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience as a real estate paralegal (foreclosure, loan servicing).
A bachelor's degree in business administration, housing, real estate, or community development/planning, may substitute for 12 months of experience - or - an associate degree in the listed fields may substitute for 6 months of experience.
For this role, multifamily generally means rental properties containing more than 12 units. Single family lending experience or mortgage banking experience is insufficient.
Experience with multifamily housing programs, financing, or funding sources.
Ability to analyze financial and compliance information and apply requirements from loan documents to loan servicing scenarios.
Demonstrated communication skills, including ability to comprehend and communicate complex information in plain language
Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word (to prepare memos and use templates), Excel (to create spreadsheets and use formulas), Outlook (to use email communication and navigate calendars), and Access (to navigate database).
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with partners from diverse backgrounds and maintain respectful relationships with a variety of internal and external partners.

Physical Requirements
Requires moving office items such as file folders and small office tools.
A certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
