Reporting Developer
Location: Charlotte, NC
Work Arrangement: Initially 5 days onsite; opportunity to move to 3 days onsite / 2 days remote once independently working
Contract: 3–5 months initially, with possibility of extension
Interview: One-round, in-person panel interview
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Reporting Developer with strong software development experience and advanced SQL skills to develop, maintain, and support reporting solutions in a financial services environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Power BI, Report Builder, SSRS, and complex SQL, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, enhance, and support reporting solutions using Power BI, Report Builder, and SSRS.
- Write, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries.
- Analyze reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical reporting solutions.
- Quickly learn proprietary SQL-based development tools and processes.
- Troubleshoot reporting and data issues and identify appropriate solutions.
- Perform testing and validation to ensure reports meet business and technical requirements.
- Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios as needed.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to resolve reporting issues.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and documentation.
- Work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Strong experience developing reports using Power BI, Report Builder, and SSRS.
- Advanced SQL/T-SQL skills, including complex query development, modification, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new tools and processes quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Knowledge of manual and automated testing methodologies.
- Experience in financial services, banking, or accounting.
- Business analysis experience supporting reporting or technology initiatives.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Note: The position is initially fully onsite in Charlotte. Once the contractor is working independently, the schedule may transition to 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, with Monday and Thursday preferred as onsite days.
