    Position Summary: Perform repairs and modifications on commercial airline passenger seats and other related components within IAW FAA guidelines.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

    • Perform repairs of any Recaro seats and/or seat components or parts regardless of complexity, including the installation of electrical harnesses on seats and/or components.
    • Train new Repair Station Technicians (incl. temporary staff) in every area or component including documentation and explanation of FAA rules and regulations.
    • Report and document any possible issues with received parts for improvements purposes based on functionality and efficiency.
    • Assist the shop lead and management team in shop improvements and lean (5s) activities.


    Requirements:

    Education/Experience:

    Education

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent required

    Experience

    • 4+ years of mechanical assembly/mechanical experience in a Part 145 FAA Repair Station or a Part 21 FAA Production organization.
    • Experience in reading and interpreting engineering prints, assembly drawings, customer maintenance manuals, repair orders, service bulletins, and other related technical data.
    • Able to train new employees in every shop area or components including electronics.  
    • Must be able to read and understand both standard and metric measuring system, precision measuring tools, torque wrenches, and ability to operate electric and pneumatic power tools in a safe manner.
    • Previous training experience in an assembly or repair setting
    • Must be detail oriented and organize in daily work situation.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills due to constant communication with Shop lead, customers, and vendors.
    • Must be able to sufficiently communicate (speak, read, and write) in English.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed. Overtime may be required on short notice.
    • Ability and willingness to travel in or out of state on short notice.
    • Must have valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record with DMV.
    • Ability to pass a DOT drug screen.
    • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
