The Repair Station Manager position is located onsite at the Astronics CSC in Waukegan, Illinois. This role is not remote.
Summary
Responsible for all aspects of running an efficient and compliant Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 43, 65, and 145, and applicable EASA Repair Station. Responsible for customer audits to the FAA Repair station, compliance FAA audits, adherence to customer quality requirements,
Turn Around Time, training, staffing, and regulatory requirements to repaired items.
Drive and ensure attention to detail, data and reports for Key Performance indicators of the FAA Repair Station to facilitate the identification of areas of opportunity. Institutionalize and maintain compliance to the applicable Quality Management System processes and requirements.
This role will help lead a team of different staff level members, to drive a high motivation and morale all associates, and strive towards continuous improvement to all aspects of the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage and lead the activities and delegated responsibilities to perform maintenance under FAA Part 145 and EASA regulations for the Repair Station and Repair Station CMM requirements.
Responsible to implement, follow and ensure compliance to the maintenance practices, inspection methods and technical data requirements used to determine airworthiness of articles under FAA Part 145 regulations as well as applicable EASA regulations.
Responsible to oversee the Electronics' Testing, Troubleshooting, Rework/Repair activities, Labeling, Inspection, and all other processes performed in the Repair Station.
Collect and report Repair Station data in a timely manner for Key performance indicators related to: Quality, Material, Delivery, Personnel performance, Schedule attainment, Customer Service, among others required by the leadership or company.
Support customer and regulatory authority onsite audits and visits.
Comply with the requirements to pass any required background checks along with required initial and random ongoing drug and alcohol screening per applicable guidelines and regulations.
Manage and implement the Problem Solving Process in their area of responsibility, with key emphasis to follow up the identification, implementation and verification of all required corrective actions (FRACA) related to the area of responsibility.
Responsible to drive, implement and execute continuous improvement initiatives to increase and/or assure quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the designated area.
Train and support employees to be able to understand and interpret technical drawings, datasheets, component maintenance manuals, and service bulletins.
Promote collaboration among team members and act as a liaison for cultural change in alignment with management expectations.
Responsible to lead a team that performs a safety sensitive function for the company.
Responsible for implementing and complying with all ethical and legal compliance requirements.
Manage, lead and fulfill related tasks and responsibilities of the designated team. Address and resolve concerns from the team members.
Other duties & functions may be assigned to this position as needed.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a regulated industry: i.e. Automotive, Medical, Military, Aviation.
Minimum 5 years of working experience in the manufacturing, remanufacturing or modification of electronic assemblies, mechanical assemblies, electromechanical assemblies, and related products.
Proven records of 2+ years of leadership experience and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge and experience with Quality Systems, Supplier Quality Management, Production Systems, Organization, Scheduling, Coaching and Mentoring.
Oriented to Process Definition, Rollout, Training and Monitoring.
Working knowledge of ISO/9001/14000 and AS9100 processes.
Proven experience working in cross-functional teams within the organization
Knowledge in Problem Solving, Root Cause analysis, Error proofing, Continuous improvement, Key Performance Indicators, and statistical analysis techniques.
Advance Level and proficiency in computational applications including but not limiting to: Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Epicor, Intutive, among others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to communicate in English written, oral and in presentations
Bachelor's degree in electronics, mechanical, technology, systems or equivalent experience performing engineering field responsibilities.

The salary range specified is applicable to positions within the State of Illinois and reflects various factors considered in compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, individual skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and the specific needs of our business and organization. At Astronics CSC, it is uncommon for new hires to receive an offer at or near the top end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are made based on the unique facts and circumstances of each candidate. The current estimated yearly salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. In addition, you will be eligible for our Quarterly Incentive compensation bonus. Astronics offers a competitive salary, along with opportunities for career growth.
